Although we are primarily an online business, you may not be aware that you can find some of our precious teddy bear creations in teddy bear shops across the UK and overseas. Michael’s unique teddy bears have come to the attention of several leading retailers and artisan shops who are always on the lookout for well-made high-quality products. Every bear Michael works on is crafted with the same care and dedication as the last, each stitched by hand and stuffed with love, so if you want to discover them on the high street you can be sure to find a Grin & Bear teddy in the shops mentioned below.
Liberty London
Liberty of London is a highly regarded brand, founded in 1875 by Arthur Liberty, and is well known for its range of quintessentially British fabric designs. Here at Grin & Bear, we have worked with Liberty on numerous projects, including designing their Christmas teddy bear for the last few years. Their fabrics are so special, reflecting their passion for art and design which is why we adore using them in our teddy bear collections. Every year, Liberty picks some of their hand painted fabrics designed in their in-house studio and asks us to make a range of teddy bears for their London shop.
If you visit the 3rd floor children’s department, you will find the following Liberty bears which you can also purchase online: Phoebe, Cranford, Theo and Icon London. Keep an eye out too for our 2021 Christmas teddy bear which will be showcased there very soon! If you are interested in finding an alternative Christmas bear, be sure to take a look at our beloved Nicholas, who is looking for a fun companion to bring him out of his shell.
Trotters Kensington
Trotters was the first store in London dedicated solely to children, with the first shop opening back in 1990 at 34 Kings Road and Trotters Kensington following in 1992. This classic children’s shop has been the home to many high-quality clothes, shoes, books and toys, as well as the Grin & Bear teddy bears.
Although there are none stocked online at the moment, if you find yourself visiting Trotters Kensington, we are almost certain there will be some gorgeous teddy bears for you to enjoy. We are delighted to have our precious teddy bears in the shop, as we completely agree with their mission to ‘make childhood memories for all’.
Tresco shop
Tresco is a family-owned island which is situated just 28 miles from Cornwall in the Isles of Scilly, and the family asked Grin & Bear to design a teddy bear made out of the Liberty Tresco fabric to stock in their shop. This exclusive bear for the island gift shop was created to represent this simpler, kinder and more peaceful place in the world. When Michael designed the Tresco teddy bear, he wanted the design to reflect the Island’s beauty which is so rich in colour and life all year round
The Tresco bear is available in two colourways, both of which are vibrant and full of life - perfectly representing the rich collection of sub-tropical plants gathered from around the globe in the Abbey Garden on the island.
Online teddy bear shops
As well as being stocked in physical stores, we also have some of our bears stocked in online teddy bear shops, one of which being Vild, House of Little. This brand is known for its commitment to sustainability, with each of their garments being manufactured with select factories and craftsmen in Portugal and London with the highest quality, eco-conscious materials.
Due to our dedication in creating high quality bears, Vild House of Little asked Grin & Bear to design a teddy bear for the online store which was made with organic cotton woven upcycled fabric which is Oeko-Tex Certified. If you decide to purchase the Upcycled Teddy Bear we created, it would be presented to you in a gift box with a gift card.
Overseas teddy bear shops
Our bears are not only available in UK teddy bear shops, we even have Grin & Bear teddy companions available over in Denmark. STUDIO MINI stocks a variety of products which reflect quality, craftsmanship and functionality, selecting wonderful kids’ products from the best designers and manufacturers around the world - including Grin & Bear.
On the STUDIO MINI website there are 7 of our bears available, including Betsy, Blue, Zack, Duke, Icon New York, Georgie and Cranford. They are showcased as being made with the finest Liberty prints and classic cotton prints, with our trademark wonderful attention to detail.
