Here at Grin & Bear, we love designing new furry friends for you to enjoy, and we are delighted to announce a brand-new collection of 5 bears to join our existing teddy bear family. Every bear Michael works on is crafted with the same care and dedication as the last, which is why these bears enjoy an outstanding global presence. Like all our other creations, the teddy bears are created with tender loving care, the finest materials and hand-picked fabrics.
How do we pick teddy bear names?
Michael spends a long time designing his bears and during the creative process their personalities slowly come to life and he loves the bit when he decides on good teddy bear names for each of them. When coming up with each of the names for the bears, Michael takes into consideration the personality of the bear and what name describes their values.
We believe that naming a teddy bear is an incredibly important part of the entire creation process, as this little toy will soon become someone’s companion. Children often take one look at the teddy or toy in front of them and give it the first name that comes into their head, with some of the popular choices for cute teddy bear names including ‘Cuddles’, ‘Buttons’ or even something as simple as ‘Teddy’.

Jet is a gorgeous bear with a fun-loving personality who loves to travel the world. Finding adventures is second nature to him, as he loves to explore different places - as well as what is on his front doorstep. Experiencing new cultures is a huge part of his life, so he would love go along with you as your travelling companion. You don’t need to worry about luggage weight limits, as he always packs light. He would be happy just to tag along with you and share his astounding knowledge as a polyglot - as he can speak many different languages. To Jet, "home is where the heart is”.
Nicholas
This smart and serious bear is just looking for a fun companion to spend some time with and bring him out of his shell. Nicholas is a debonair bear, has a way with words and is very intellectual, usually being known as the problem solver amongst his friends. Despite his serious personality, Nicholas actually has a fantastic sense of humour, you just need to get to know him before you discover this wonderful side to his personality. You can always count on Nicholas to be there for you, and this confident and stylish bear will be a great addition to your life as a charming companion.
Frederick
If you are looking for a happy and bright addition to your close circle of friends, Frederick would be the ideal bear for you. This little charmer is always happy, you almost always see him smiling - which makes him so fun to be around. One of the most wonderful things about Frederick is his utmost devotion to you, as when you’re around him you always have his undivided attention. He cares deeply about his art, so this may come across as a bit of an attitude - but it is truly just his passion shining through. Alistair is very talented across the board, and even plays multiple musical instruments. When it comes to organising parties, Alistair’s are always the best - so be sure to never miss out on a get-together. He is the coolest amongst his friends, gives the best toasts and makes sure everyone has lots of fun. The main aspect about Alistair you are bound to love is he is always himself, so everyone feels free to be who they truly are around him too.

Bonwire is a very cultured bear and the fabric has been handwoven in Ghana using silk and cotton. Bonwire’s origin is based on folklore, where weavers invented the fabric by watching spiders and seeking to replicate the patterns of its web. If you are looking for an intelligent and adaptable bear, Bonwire would be the ideal companion for you. Very practically minded, everything this bear does is about being crafty and working with your hands. Creating things with value and taking inspiration from nature, Bonwire very proudly follows traditions with care and respect, while still encouraging his friends and loved ones to discover who they truly are.
Eden
This is one of our most exciting new bears, as it was up to you to give this teddy bear a name! Painted in watercolour and crayon, this print is called Forbidden Fruit and is a tropical interpretation of an arts and crafts print. Eden is a very wise fellow, with a mysterious charm - yet very creative. His perfectionism is a very big part of his personality, but he still exudes confidence in himself and his owner - so would certainly give you a little boost when you need it. From all the teddy bear names people proposed on the Grin & Bear London Facebook and Instagram page competition, we selected the name Eden as our top favourite!
