Teddy bears are such a wonderful gift for anyone, no matter what age you may be. However, they are also especially appreciated as a newborn gift. With so many newborn baby gifts to choose from, it can be hard to decide which might be best for the new arrival, which is why we have put together this blog to highlight the reasons why a teddy bear is a must for any bundle of joy. Bespoke teddy bear made of sleepsuits
Here at Grin & Bear, we love working on bespoke projects, and recently we worked with a family to create a teddy bear for their little girl. The parents got in touch with Michael, as they wanted their daughter to have a keepsake from her newborn days in the form of an adorable teddy bear. When creating our bears, one of the best ways to give the design a unique twist is for the clients to provide their preferred garments and materials for use in the design, which is exactly what they did. Willow’s parents sent across 4 outfits from when she was a baby to incorporate into the design of the teddy bear.
The idea of the teddy bear was to create something cohesive from the four baby outfits where the materials worked well together, as each of the outfits had their own unique features. One of the requests from the client was to feature "Born in 2019" embroidery, and Michael executed this perfectly. He came up with the idea of cutting a love heart shape around that piece and placing it on the chest of the bear, finishing off the heart with a blanket stitch appliqué.
This project highlights just how wonderful a teddy bear can be as a gift for a newborn or young child. Willow will now be able to treasure times of her life which she may not always remember but will be able to pass this keepsake on through the generations of her family.
