Lockdown has taken a toll on all of us, especially our interaction with our families. The dynamic of our relationships has completely changed, and for some, this can result in new emotions - raised anxiety in children, tension in parenting relationships or genuine worry about when we will be able to see family again. This very real and uncertain pandemic has confined us to our homes, bringing the entire world to a standstill.
As painful as it may be, if they are not part of our household, we are unable to see our family members in person. But even in this challenging time of separation from your loved ones, your connection to them remains vitally important. This communication, although not conducted physically in person, can help you feel less lonely and isolated. The whole world is now looking at new ways to connect with loved ones by using technology and other novel methods of showing you are thinking about them. For example, have you ever thought about sending a personalised teddy bear to your loved ones during these unprecedented times?
Luxury teddy bears from Grin & Bear
Blissfully ignorant of the global pandemic, babies are still being born every day and not all family members are able to meet these little bundles of joy. One of the projects we recently worked on was for a returning customer, who was looking for a way to connect with her twin newborn nieces living in Australia. Due to the current travel restrictions in place across the globe, this loving aunt was unable to meet her new nieces, so wanted to provide them with a delightful gift they would treasure for years to come.
Based on the brief, Michael designed two identical alpaca wool teddies, with coordinating Liberty bows, both complementing each other - truly representing the different personalities of the twins that they would grow up to exhibit. Each bear had the names and date of births of each girl embroidered on them, and Michael worked tirelessly to meet the ideas and comments of the customer, ensuring the design was exactly what they envisioned and hoped for.
Although this was a more challenging project than usual, due to the craftsmanship required in the hand-stitched embroidery, these bears were sent to Australia in a timely manner and they became favourite gifts, by the girls and parents alike! They were one of the most personalised luxury bears Michael has ever created, but definitely one of the best. These two bears will surely stay in the family for generations and represent a time where although we couldn’t physically be with each other, the love shared across streets, countries and continents alike, never ceases.
